Message from the Secretary General
Fellow Delegates,

As we count down to the 7th DPS Kolar MUN from June 20-22, 2025, I invite you to join me in confronting perhaps the most consequential challenge of our generation: governing the digital revolution that is rapidly transforming every aspect of human society.

Our theme "Digital Nexus" isn't merely academic—it's existential. The decisions being made today about AI regulation, digital surveillance, cyber warfare, and technological access will shape the world we inherit. Yet these decisions are too often made without meaningful input from those who will live longest with their consequences: young people like us.

This year's committee agendas—from cryptocurrency crimes to digital election manipulation, from tech-facilitated gender violence to e-waste management—represent flashpoints where technology collides with human values. These aren't just technical problems awaiting technical solutions; they're profoundly human dilemmas that require us to define what kind of digital future we want to create.
When we designed these committees, we deliberately created spaces for both newcomers and experienced delegates to thrive. Junior committees exploring digital education divides and online safety will build foundational understanding of tech governance challenges. Senior committees tackling cyber warfare and digital surveillance will push the boundaries of what Model UN can address.
Throughout all committees, you'll discover that the most promising solutions emerge from the integration of technological understanding, policy innovation, and ethical clarity.
As your Secretary General, I challenge you to approach these three days not as a simulation exercise but as vital preparation for responsibilities you will soon bear. The diplomatic skills you develop here—building consensus across deep divides, crafting precisely worded agreements, balancing competing values—are exactly what our fractured digital governance landscape desperately needs.

Whether this is your first MUN or your twentieth, come ready to both advocate forcefully and listen generously. Prepare thoroughly, speak confidently, but remain open to perspectives that challenge your assumptions. Remember that in the complex terrain of technology governance, yesterday's adversary may become today's essential partner in addressing shared threats.

Our team has created a conference environment where intellectual rigor meets creative problem-solving. Now it's up to each of you to seize this opportunity to develop not just as delegates, but as architects of our shared digital future.
I look forward to witnessing the passion, insight, and collaborative spirit that will define DPS Kolar MUN 2025.

Meghna Verma
Secretary General,
DPS Kolar MUN 2025
